At 17, Maria Mello is a student and soccer star born and raised in New Bedford, MA. She does not understand why her mom (Caroline) and her dad (Jack), two very similar people, can’t make a lasting relationship. So Maria picks Renato, somebody totally opposite her, as a boyfriend, hoping that will work.
Ashley Root is indeed a student, singing and performing since second grade. In 2004 she won the Sun Chronicle Newspaper/ Saucer Sound “Hottest Act In Town” contest which featured the best from 7 Massachusetts towns. Ashley has played “Medea” in Medea, “Sarah Brown” in Guys and Dolls, and was a knockout as “Martha Brewster” in Arsenic and old Lace.
