I auditioned because I was very impressed that Louise Rossetti is playing the role of Grammie. I have been an actor since 1952, a runner since birth. In 1966 I placed 28th in the Boston Marathon and on that very evening I opened a play around the corner from the Marathon Finish Line in a cabaret called "The Bavarian Hofbrauhaus. The Boston Globe carried a small article entitled "Runner by day, actor by night". In 2004, my 28th place time would still have placed me in the top 50.
3 decades years ago I earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in acting from the highly regarded program at Florida State University. (currently ranked 6th in the nation). 2002 I retired from teaching and directing, but not from acting.
I have directed 76 plays and acted in close to 80. I played three leads for the Gloucester Stage Co., and have recently played Grampa in "You can't take it with you" for the Seacoast Repertory in Portsmouth, NH.
As I write this, I'm 67 years old, 5'10" and 152 lb. I have a full head of thin gray hair, a "prominent" nose and a beautiful wife.
